Nils Helling is a writer and director based in Berlin.
His films are drawn to dark emotional spaces, quiet disturbances and moments where reality begins to slip. They favor atmosphere over plot and open narrative structures over classical resolution.
Growing up in northern Germany, he began making films early, starting in elementary school — often improvised, often unsettling, and rarely polished. This early approach continues to echo in a body of work that has since become more precise and intentional.
He is currently developing a feature film exploring liminality, impermanence, and the fragile boundary between worlds.
